Iain Tyrrell

Iain Tyrrell founded Tyrrell Engineering in 1984 specifically to service, tune and restore modern and classic prestige and high performance cars, specialising in overhauling and "setting up" cars for optimal enjoyment and reliability on road and track. It's true to say there's hardly a make or model of top-end car produced in the last 60 years that he has not worked on and driven extensively.

Iain was contracted by Rolls Royce Motors (Car Division) in the early 1990's to carry out warranty work on new cars on their behalf at customers' request. He has undertaken major restoration work on several significant and high value classic cars including a Ferrari 250GT with famous competition history, a 1964 Mercedes 600 Pullman and a 1937 Rolls Royce Phantom III and he has been called on as an expert witness in several high profile cases involving cars exceeding £1m in value, including representing Lloyds of London in the Lord Brocket case.

In 2004 he harnessed his extensive knowledge and experience to found Cheshire Classic Cars. His passion and enthusiasm are at the heart of the business and superior examples of iconic brands are hand picked by him for sale at our showroom in Chester.
